Asian Sculpture Gallery

The Asian sculpture gallery presents a broad introduction to the religious arts of Asia, with works representing the Buddhist, Hindu, Jain, and folk traditions, from the Indian subcontinent to Southeast Asia, the Himalayas, China, and Japan. The works on display range from the first through the twentieth century, and include large-scale stone and wood icons, originally made for public worship in temples, as well as small images in clay and bronze that were for household shrines or personal veneration.
