Early European Art

The Museum has a small collection representing the artistic creation of the Middle Ages. Objects ranging from Byzantine and Frankish metalwork to Gothic sculpture and stained glass help to illuminate the high degree of skill and craftsmanship that extended from humble devotional images to imposing sculpture that were part of extended architectural programs.
