Past Exhibitions: 2001William Kentridge: Weighing... and Wanting

Organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, this exhibition explores the work of South African artist William Kentridge through both charcoal drawings and a video installation. Figures, landscapes, and cross-sections of the brain all come together in Kentridge's drawings for Weighing... and Wanting. Drawing forms the basis of his animation process, and the sixteen charcoal drawings reflect the artist's rethinking of his subjects, as can be seen in the erasures that are an integral part of his working method. |
