The Mark Webster Reading Series: Caroline Harper New (poetry), Julie Cadman-Kim (fiction)

The Mark Webster Reading Series presents emerging writers in a warm and relaxed setting. MFA second-year students in fiction and poetry, each introduced by a peer, will share a sample of their work. Friends, family, and members of the Ann Arbor community are welcome to attend the readings both in-person and synchronously on Zoom.

Caroline Harper New is a poet and artist from Bainbridge, Georgia. Her writing explores

natural disaster, motherhood, and ancestry in the Gulf Coast, and is informed by an academic

background in anthropology.

Julie Cadman-Kim is a writer and educator from the Pacific Northwest. Her work has been

published or is forthcoming in Catapult, Black Warrior Review, Fairy Tale Review, Passages

North, and elsewhere.

Organized by the MFA in Creative Writing Program and presented in partnership with the University of Michigan Museum of Art. For questions or accommodation needs, contact co-hosts Jen Galvao ( or Urvi Kumbhat (
