The Mark Webster Reading Series: Emily Zhao (fiction), Amanda Lin Hayes (poet)

All readings will be available to watch simultaneously via Zoom: tinyurl.com/WebsterSeries

The Mark Webster Reading Series presents emerging writers in a warm and relaxed setting. MFA second-year students in fiction and poetry, each introduced by a peer, will share a sample of their work. Friends, family, and members of the Ann Arbor community are welcome to attend the readings both in-person and synchronously on Zoom.

Emily Zhao is a fiction writer from St. Louis working on a novel about competitive table tennis. Before attending the Helen Zell Writers’ Program, she lived and worked in Washington, DC.

Amanda Lin Hayes writes poems and looks at birds. She is terrified of snakes.

Organized by the MFA in Creative Writing Program and presented in partnership with the University of Michigan Museum of Art. For questions or accommodation needs, contact co-hosts Jen Galvao (jgalvao@umich.edu) or Urvi Kumbhat (urvik@umich.edu).
